Chacha Chachi Dhabha is a popular dhabha located in Kaza,Batal village. Bodh Dorje and wife Hishe Chhomo run this dhabha .They are known as “chacha”& ”chachi “. It's famous among travelers for its warm hospitality and delicious food.It is situated in Kaza town, which serves as a hub for travelers exploring the Spiti Valley. Kaza is known for its stunning landscapes, monasteries, and adventure opportunities. As you step inside the warm smile of chacha and chachi welcomes you,making you feel like part of the family.
Chacha Chachi Dhabha is owned by Dorjey Bodh (Chacha) and his wife Hishe Chhomo (Chachi), who opened the dhaba in 1970 .Since then this is doing great in terms of hospitality as well as in taste of dishes.
Chacha Chachi Dhabha is located in the village of Batal in the Lahaul-Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh, India .
The dhaba is located at an altitude of around 4,000 meters and offers North Indian dishes like dal, rice, chapati, subzi, tea and snacks .
Chacha Chachi Dhabha is well-known for its hospitality, food and shelter in the midst of a desolate valley between Ladakh and Tibet .

From Delhi: Take the NH44 to Chandigarh, then continue on the NH22 to Shimla. From Shimla, take the NH22 to Kullu and then the NH505 to Batal.
From Manali: Take the NH505 to Batal, approximately 50 km away.
3. By Bus:
From Delhi: Take an overnight bus to Kullu or Manali, then transfer to a local bus or taxi to Batal.

4. By Taxi:
Hire a taxi from Kullu, Manali, or Shimla to reach Batal.

The old couple has been running this dhabha from last 45 long years.They have lived here till the end of October every year to host travelers&shelter them.
This is a story of a couple who have great positivity towards life and known as savior of life.
Bollywood’s actor Sunny Deol once visited Batal for a film shooting .He was as much as impressed by their hospitalities as he had to to come here again.He keeps visiting here again and again.He stayed with them and paid rent of 120rs .Chacha would not charge more money.
This couple has also been awarded with the Godfrey Philip bravery award for saving the life of no of people.
Bodh Dorje and wife Hishe Chhomo ,fondly known as Chacha Chachi among the locals and visitors.Batal is a region with no network signal, no petrol pumps, no electricity negligible human habitation and only deadly roads. This couple don’t only serve food for the tourist but also makes proper arrangements for their accommodations. Chacha shared about one of the incident which affected him a lot. It was an incident when there was too much snowfall which render the road inaccessible. There was a group of kids from a school in Mumbai who trapped in this worse situation. They were rescued and sheltered by the couple. They were airlifted later from that place.
This is a story of ordinary people with great courage and an inspiring attitude who have saved many lives in the worse climatic situation of Batal.
