Kinner Kailash,located in the kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh.It is a towering peak that stands at an impressive 6,500 meters(21,325 feet) above sea level.This majestic mountain is considered sacred by the locals,who believed it to be the abode of Lord Shiva. The name Kinner Kailash literally means Kailash of Kinnaur, with kailash being the mythical home of Lord Shiva in the Himalayas. The peak is also known as kinner Kailash of simply Kailash.
The trek to Kinner kailash is a challenging but rewarding experience. The journey begins from the village of Kalpa,which is situated at an altitude of 2,960 meters (9,711 feet). The trek takes you through lush forests,rugged terrain,and picturesque villages,offering breathing views of the surrounding landscaps. The highlight of the trek is the circumbulation (parikrama)of the kinner Kailash peak,which is considered a scared ritual by the locals. The parikrama is a 3 day trek that covers a distance of approximately 60 kilometetrs (37 miles).Taking you through some of the most spectacular landscapes in the Himalayas. Kinner kailash is not only a natural wonder but also a cultural and religious significance.The peak is considered a symbol of spiritual growth,and the trek is believed to wash away ones sins. The locals believed that Lord Shiva resides in the peak,and the trek is a way to connect with the divine.
It will take you to the abode of Lord Shiva.There is 79 ft vertical rock in the kinner kailash mountain range.Here people can see the shivlingam which changes color during the course of the day.This trek can be done in 2 or 3 days.Kinner kailash is a majestic peak that offers a unique blend of natural beauty,cultural significance,and spiritual growth. According to Hindu mythology this is the sacred place which is associated with Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati.There is a natural kund near kinner kailash peak,known as Parvati Kund .It is also the meeting place of Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati .For this reason ,Ganesh Park or Kailash darshan Park was earlier called Ashiqui Park.Mythology says that Lord Shiva conducted a meeting of Goddesses and Gods at Kinner Kailash peak every winter.
