Manikaran is located in the Parvati Valley on Parvati River in Kullu District of Himachal Pardesh. Manikaran is 44 kilometer from Kullu. There is a great spring at this place. Thousands of people take a dip in its hot water. The water is so hot that dal,rice,chapattis,vegetables etc. can be boiled and cooked in it. Manikaran is associated with Lord Shiva and Parvati. It is said that once, while Maa Paravti was taking bath here, she lost her earings in the kund. When she told it to Lord Shiva, he became furious and looked at the water of the kund with great anger. With this, thousands of earings flowed out from the boiling water and since then the water of the spring is boiling. Manikaran is also famous for an ancient Hindu Temple and a Manikaaran Sahib Gurudwara.The spring water is used for cooking the food which is served for langar here.This place is the center of attraction for the pilgrims.Pilgrims come from very far away places here for the cure of their ailments.Pneumonia,rheumatism and muscular pains are said to be rapidly cured by taking bath in this water.This is the place which will mesmerize you by breathtakinf views.
