Udaipur is the city of the Rajasthan in India. Udaipur was discovered by Maharana Udai singh in 1559. The city is located in the southern most part of Rajasthan, near the Gujarat border. It is surrounded by the Aravali Range, which separates it from Thar Desert. Udaipur is famous for mountains, Lakes, Beautiful places and tiger garden. Udaipur is a tourist destination and is known for its history, culture, scenic locations and the Rajput-era palaces. It has seven lakes surrounding the city Fateh Sagar Lake, Lake Pichola, Swaroop Sagar Lake, Rangsagar, and Doodh Talai Lake. Udaipur is very romantic and peaceful city. Udaipur is called as 'White City of Rajasthan'. Large number of Rajput – style palaces, and the main City Palace built in the middle of the city. The Rajput kings built palaces made of marble. Hence, the colour white is prominent in different marble palaces of the city. Udaipur has a rich cultural heritage from the past . The city has kept a balance between preserving the rituals and traditions of the past while keeping up with the modern advancements and changes in lifestyle. Like any other place in the state of Rajasthan, folk dance and music have an important place in adding to the city's cultural richness. The dynamic and vibrant dances of Bhavai, Ghoomar, Kachchhi Ghodi, Kalbeliya, and Terahtaali add a sparkle to the rich cultural heritage of Udaipur.
